Frequently asked questions

All answers sorted by topic – from prepaid and billing to game servers, VPS, web hosting, BGP and colocation.

Prepaid & Billing

Upfront payment, term length, renewal, and cancellation.

You pay for your plan upfront for the term you choose (e.g. 30 days). There is no automatic direct debit: if the period expires without renewal, the service ends – no separate cancellation is required.

The service ends when the already paid period expires. Your data is not kept running indefinitely after expiry. If you renew in time, service continues without interruption through a new upfront payment.

Yes. You receive email reminders before your prepaid period expires – so you can pay for the next period in the customer area in good time.

No. Without renewal, the contract ends automatically when the paid prepaid period expires. No separate cancellation is required (details: Terms & Conditions § 7).

No. Nothing is automatically charged to your account. Each renewal only happens when you actively order and pay for a new period in the customer area.

Typically after payment of the invoice is received. Provisioning starts automatically once payment is posted – depending on the product, within a few minutes to a few hours.

Depending on the product, different billing periods are available (e.g. monthly or longer terms). All options are shown in the order form before purchase.

Yes – vServers, game servers, webspace, BGP, and colocation are generally billed with upfront payment for the selected term.

Common online payment methods shown at checkout (e.g. PayPal, credit card, and others). Billing is always upfront for the selected prepaid period.

With prepaid you have booked the selected period in advance. Whether and to what extent a refund is possible depends on the individual case and our terms and conditions – if you have questions, please open a support ticket.

BGP & Networking

eBGP, ASN, prefixes, and traffic billing.

BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is the central routing protocol of the internet. With your own ASN you can announce IP prefixes globally and control how traffic reaches your infrastructure.

For your own eBGP session you typically need an ASN and routable prefixes (e.g. from RIPE). We support you with the technical connection – RIR registration is handled through the respective Regional Internet Registry.

Yes. Using GRE or VXLAN, you can build a tunnel overlay to our network (AS213641) and run multi-hop BGP from your location.

Select a BGP product in the shop and complete your order. We then set up peer IP, ASN, and prefix approvals together with you.

BGP configuration is performed manually by our network team. Depending on scope (session, prefixes, tunnel), setup can take up to 24 hours.

Your traffic is measured every 5 minutes. The top 5% of values are ignored – you are billed based on the highest remaining value. Occasional spikes do not affect your monthly bill.

Colocation

Your own hardware in our Hamburg data centre.

Colocation (also "colo") is the provision of space, power, cooling, and networking in a professional data centre. You operate your own hardware while we provide a secure and reliable environment.

You benefit from redundant infrastructure, professional security, scalable connectivity, and lower capital expenditure compared to running your own data centre.

After approval you receive access cards and PINs for the premises and building. Access to the colocation area additionally requires biometric authentication. Appointments can be arranged with our support team.

On request we support you with remote hands – e.g. cable changes, reboots, or documented work on your hardware. Contact us via ticket.
